The VOX 2009 Yearbook Staff

It feels very comforting to know that I’m in the presence of greatness.  These people are the most amazing friends I have ever surrounded myself with.  They’re caring, they’re very much concerned and they’re very hardworking.  They won’t refuse to laugh at your jokes but they also make it a point to laugh at you (or refuse to laugh at you) when your jokes turn from hilarious to corny.  They’re one of the truest and most sincere bunch I’ve ever known, ready to face criticism or give one whenever needed.  Lastly, they’re all such great friends to have, ready to lend a hand whenever you need one.

We’ve just gone through Night 2 of a series of overnights for the yearbook.  It’s likewise comforting to know that I’m in the presence of such workaholic individuals.  They all know when to get the work done and to get it right all the time.  In just two overnight sessions, we have already surpassed about 80 percent of the yearbook.  All write-ups are in, all feature articles have been written.  We’re just waiting for several delinquents (aka the President of the Philippines and the UP System, who turn out to be such pains in the ass, whowouldhaveknown) before finally laying out our pages and closing the yearbook.

Two months.  That was all it took.  Plus several months of planning before actual press work, of course.  I think that feat would be impossible if not for these committed individuals who willingly lent their time for this last effort.  I know we all have busy lives, what with mundane classes, thesis and organizations we have to tend to.  Most of us are even heads of our respective organizations!  I’m glad you all said “yes” when I asked all of you to be a part of this endeavor.  Truthfully, this is all your work.  I may have been voted the chief but most of what we have produced lately were all because of you.

We also had our group photos taken during the overnight (hmmm I’d be sporting Tito Boy eyeglasses in the yearbook.  Let’s see if that’s such a good idea after ten years).  I told them to wear black so that we’d appear slimmer in the picture!  He he he.  I had fun doing a photoshoot again.

Okay, I’m gonna say it.  I love you all!  I mean that.  It’s coming from the heart.  I hope I can repay you for sticking it out with me.  =)

And again, just like what I’ve said in my message, I offer this quote up to all you, just because I find it very true for all of you:

“Volunteers are seldom paid; not because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless.”

Congratulations, VOX Yearbook Staff 2009!  Onti na lang! =)
