To all die-hard UAAP fans out there, below is the schedule for the first round of games for Men’s Basketball. As you will see, most of the games will be held at Philsports Arena (formerly ULTRA. Yes, the WoWoWee stampede ground zero). Some schools are complaining since they say it’ll be far from their school (Hmmm, I wonder what school that is?) but ULTRA actually strikes middle ground for people coming from Taft, Espana, QC and the U-Belt area. So please, before you complain, consider everyone and not just your school. The Ninoy Aquino Stadium is a rather unfair venue, especially for people from far-flung universities (like UP, Ateneo and UST). Besides, the ULTRA venue is relatively better than NAS, what with its dripping roofs during rains (which comes often this season, btw) and broken bleachers and all.

If you don’t have any idea how to go to the Philsports Arena, here’s how: take an FX from MegaMall which goes through Pasig, then go down in front of DepEd and walk a little further to the entrance of Philsports Arena. By jeepney, you can ride one at the terminal in Edsa Central (those that go through Pasig, just ask which one) and alight at the same stop. There are FX that pass by Philsports Arena which could take you to EDSA Crossing or Robinson’s Galleria on the way home, so transportation is not really a problem. Tamad ka na lang pag umangal ka pa. Of course, there are little walks between the transfers of jeep or FX, but at least you get exercise and won’t need Phentermine to lose that weight anymore! Diba?!

Hi! Of course you’ll need a ticket to watch at ULTRA. Try ticketnet.com.ph or just go to the UAAP schools to buy tickets. Tickets are also sold at the arena.
