Note: This is the Second part of a Three-part series on the Trinoma Bloggers’ Food Tour. Part 1 is here.

After digesting nearly a dozen kind of cuisine in the food tour, it’s time to digest the impressions the different restaurants have made upon the bloggers. Different tastes and different flavors have melded so succinctly in my mouth that I tend to confuse one restaurant’s food over the other.

This part will showcase the most-recommended restaurants we’ve been to based on their food, the restaurant’s ambiance and their crew’s service. The next and last part will be for the bad publicity present to you the restaurants that didn’t make quite an impression on me, as well as on other bloggers. So here goes!

Madison Grill
Even if we weren’t able to taste any of their food, I give this one a thumbs up for the polite service and a great concept. As I mentioned in my last post, I was quite delighted by the idea of the do-it-yourself pizza bar and the oven outside the kitchen. The place was quite unappealing for a middle-class diner like me because Madison Grill targets the high-class citizen. If you’re looking for fine dining and can afford to splurge on food, then Madison Grill is a great place to drop by. The price ranges from Php400 to as much as Php10,000. The chef said that everyone should try their steaks.

Abe (Where good friends dine)
If you’re looking for a bit higher-class Filipino dining, then you should try Abe. They serve quality Filipino food for those who are not so much on a tight budget. Menu choices such as the Binukadkad na Plapla is sure to catch the curiosity of the customer. They let us taste their Rellenong Mais (which is basically just Corn Omelette) and it tasted real good!

Bubba Gump
This has got to be the best restaurant we’ve been to that day. The restaurant’s interior was very appealing, especially the “Run, Forrest, Run” and “Stop, Forrest, Stop” car plates which are used to call the attention of the wait staff. The crew were all smiles and were all ready to greet us “Welcome” and “See you again!” We sampled their Pingpong Shrimp which is basically shrimp dipped in Sweet and Spicy marinade, as well as the Pasta with Shrimp (haha, apparently I forgot what it’s called). We also got a taste of their speckled lemonade, which is a refreshing drink to wash down that assortment of flavors.

Italianni’s
I’m poor therefore I’ve never eaten at Italianni’s. It’s one of those restaurants you get a laugh at whenever the barkada thinks of where to eat and somebody utters, “ummm… Italianni’s!” and everybody just laughs to cover the fact that they can’t afford the food in there. Anyway, we only got to taste two dishes in Italianni’s–one is the Spinach & Artichoke Formaggio (which was later resurrected in Cyma) and the other is the Penne Arrabiato. The first one is a sandwich made with spinach and artichoke blended in cream and parmesan cheese. I’d fall for anything with cheese therefore this one’s a winner. The Penne Arrabiato is a vegetarian pasta that didn’t taste much of anything, so let’s leave it at that. The crew was very welcoming and accommodating and they were very enthusiastic in answering my questions.

Oki Oki
If you’re tired of the same-old offerings of Tokyo Tokyo for Japanese food, why not try Oki Oki instead? They’ve got a wide array of Japanese food for you to choose from, and their servings are quite generous as well. Bloggers were talking about the Crazy Maki like hell, and so even if I’m not quite a huge fan of sushis, makis or anything raw for that matter, I tried it out. And guess what? IT WAS GOOOODDDD!!! As in. Orgasmic to the highest level. You should go check it out, I tell you!

Crazy Maki that was TO DIE FOR!

There you go. Of course I missed a lot of restaurants whom other bloggers have raved about because we weren’t able to go there for tasting. Too bad, but we had our bellies uber-full so we decided to cut down on the number of restos.

Once again, thanks to Trinoma and Yehey.com for coming up with this event! =D

I’ve been roaming the Blogosphere, reading the posts of other bloggers about this event. Bubba Gump seems to get a triple-A from everyone, huh? So does La Maison (La Maisson?).

I also noticed that you are one of the veeeery few who didn’t mention Ann/Anne of Cabalen….Or are you reserving that for Part 3? Lol. :D

I had a great experience at Bubba Gump (TriNoMa) a few weeks back. Yes, service was really good. There was this one instant though where they dropped a plate with my extra rice on it (on the way to our table). She laughed at her clumsiness and popped back 30 seconds later with a new plate. It was actually funny. =)
